On June 30, 2014 my air conditioner quit working. I made an after-hours service call to your company. I would like to commend the service technician, Eddie Jackson, for an excellent job. He is one of the best technicians that i have come in contact with in a long time.
Shortly after i made the call, he called me to let me know he was on another service call and would be out as soon as possible. He arrived promptly and checked out my air conditioner. As you know with the tempertures in the 90s, your air conditioning is very important. He advised me that it eas frozen and he could not repair it until the next day.
He arrived the next morning and repaired my air conditioner. He did an outstanding job. He took the time to advise me about some things i could do to keep my air conditioner running efficiently. He also mentioned a service contract that would help keep my air conditioner in proper running order. He installed a new thermostat and enrolled me in your service program.
I was impressed with Mr Jackson. Not only was he professional in his job, but he went above and beyond to help me understand what i could do to improve the performance of my air conditioner. He spent the time to explain some things to me that i was not aware fo and i appreciated his advice.
Being a single woman, i need assistance and advice with equipment such as air conditioner. This is something that i am not familiar with and i really appreciated him taking the time to assist me. I am sure you are aware of his outstanding abilities, but i just wanted you to know how much i appreciate him and Standard Heating and Air Conditioning. He is an outstanding representative of your company.

Replaced our ancient heating and A/C units. Our heating and A/C units were over 20 years old and finally gave up the ghost. The came out the same day, declared the need for new units, had a salesperson out the same evening. For the size of our home, they helped us pick the best option, then threw in a year's service contract. After the service was completed, it was inspected and works perfectly. They were timely, reasonable, and professional.
We have also used them for plumbing needs over the last year or two and have been very pleased with their work.

cable master bathroom group drains cleared , discovered improper venting for master group drains unclogged bathroom sink ,had to go under the house (crawlspace) and up in attic. Was here a long time and very thorough.
Member Comments: I had a few issues with bathroom drains. I called late one afternoon and they sent a service person out the next morning. They gave me a specific time when he was expected. The next morning they called and said he would be about 15 minutes later than I was previously told.Brian showed up on time. Brian was very polite and professional. He was very thorough and concerned with getting everything just right. He crawled under my house (yucky crawlspace) and even into the attic to double check for problems. I will use Standard Heating and Conditioning again and ask specifically for Brian. He also did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed.

Standard replaced my gas water heater. Randy was very professional and knowledgeable. The install was finished in about 2.5 hours. It is working perfectly. I trust Standard to handle the HVAC and plumbing in my house. They have been handling everything for 15 years. Great job Standard Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. I highly recommend them.

About the Owner
Name John
John is a dedicated family man and a businessman. He has been happily married to his wife, John, for the last 42 years and has three children and six wonderful grandchildren. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Electrical Engineering he began his career in the heating and air conditioning field calling on HVAC dealers. In 1977, he returned to his hometown of Birmingham and joined Standard Heating & Air Conditioning Company as a salesman working with homeowners, business owners, architects, and contractors to provide comfortable and efficient heating and cooling systems for homes and businesses.
Today he is the owner of the 75 year-old business which is a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer and an authorized dealer of Dr. Energy Saver. He is a long-time board member of the Better Business Bureau and of the Subcontractors Association of Alabama. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Carrier Dealer Hall of Fame Award. After all these years, he still gets excited about all the technological advancements made in the industry in recent years and is looking forward to many more to come.

Giving Back
We believe in giving back to the community and country we’re proud to be a part of. Every year we donate to United Way to help local families get back on their feet. We also sponsor local little league teams for our employees to let our kids stay active! Most recently, we participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge and donated to ALS in the hopes that some cure might be found for this disease. We are extremely thankful for the opportunities we have to give back to the area we’ve loved for the past 75 years.
